About Joshua

intro

Hello! I’m Joshua, a Biblical Life Coach, dedicated to guiding you through life’s challenges. Whether it’s anxiety, depression, addiction, loneliness, or any formidable burden you’re facing, I firmly believe in your resilience, perseverance, and capacity to overcome. Together, with the guiding presence of God, we embark on a genuine journey of exploration and growth. You don’t have to face this journey alone.

Some other facts about me…

I am a believer in Christ, a husband, a father, and a graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University. At OBU I graduated with a bachelors in Psychology Pre-Counseling and a minor in Family & Community Services.

While I made a profession of faith at 7 years old, I quit going to church and lived selfishly once I left home for college. Thankfully, God used a man named Joseph to disciple me and show me what it means to be a disciple of Christ. I became a youth pastor and “Mission 1:8” group leader during the remainder of my time at OBU. Through this,  God developed in me a passion to teach and lead others to focus and enjoy God by regularly practicing spiritual disciplines while relying on the Holy Spirit to lead us into a deeper love and enjoyment in Him. That is why this site was started! It was a long process for me to get into a consistent habit of reading the scriptures and spending time with God. I want to share the things I learned that brought me to this consistency which continues to change my life for the better every day!

I have quite an interest in practical actions that help me to improve spiritually, physically, and mentally – all of which I want to use to help others develop an unshakable discipline!

I would like to add a disclaimer: I am not a seminary student (though I hope to go one day). What I have learned has been absorbed through daily quiet times, lots of prayers for wisdom, and through reading other pastors and theologians who are known to stay true to the scriptures. I can be wrong,  I can make mistakes, and I am open to correction. I have also completed 60 hours of training in Biblical Counseling and am a Certified Mental Health Coach.

I am also not a licensed counselor, a certified trainer, or nutritionist – information on this site is not to be seen as medical advice. For the section containing physical and mental disciplines, anything I share is based on my experience.

With much misinformation and advice available today that ignores or twists the scripture, I hope the Disciplined Faith site will be a place that provides clarity by using the scripture to encourage others in their faith and can answer misconceptions about God or the Christian life!
